<'RIO+20' side event(부수회의) 공동 개최>

2012년 6월 20~22일에 브라질 리우에서 개최 예정인 UNCSD(Rio+20) 회의의 side event(부수회의)를 한국그린캠퍼스협의회를 포함한 세계 10여개 지속가능성 증진 협의체들이 공동으로 준비하고 있습니다.

[회의 주제]
 Aiming higher, unlocking tertiary education's potential to accelerate sustainable development and the transition to a fair and green economy (더 높은 목표를 향하여 - 지속가능성 증진과 공정한 녹색경제로의 전환을 위한 대학의 역할)

[회의 취지]
 고등교육은 정치, 경제, 사회 등 각 분야의 리더 양성을 통해 미래를 만들어간다는 점에서 중요한 역할을 합니다. 이번 부수회의에서는 지속가능한 발전과 녹색경제로의 전환을 실현하는 데 고등교육이 중요한 역할을 한다는 점을 강조할 것입니다. 대학지속가능성 증진을 위한 세계 10여개 협의체들이 공동으로 준비하고 있는 이번 회의에서는 다음 4개 주요 질문에 대해 논의할 것입니다.

* 정부, 시민단체, 기업, 고등교육기관이 녹색경제, ‘지속가능한 발전(sustainable development)'으로의 전환을 어떻게 이끌어낼 수 있을 것인가?
* 사회를 변화시키는 데 고등교육의 잠재력을 어떻게 발휘할 것인가?
* ‘지속가능한 발전’을 위한 제도적 기본 틀을 만들고 참여하는 데 고등교육이 어떠한 역할을 할 것인가?
* 고등교육기관의 ‘지속가능한 발전’을 위한 노력이 성공할 수 있도록 어떤 재정·지원 메커니즘이 필요할 것인가?
